From Keith: “Kieran has played in many bands throughout Ireland and the UK over the years and is a very accomplished musician. On the new album we used a lot of guitar tracks which meant a big problem trying to recreate our sound live. Kieran joining will allow us build the best live sound we have ever had. He will also bring his experience into the creative process which is exciting for me personally, I have never composed with another guitarist before. Things keep getting better in camp Cruachan !!!”

John joined Cruachan in 1993 when Keith Fay went from playing bass to guitar. He has always said he would retire from music when he reached the milsetone age of 40, that time has come and he was not lying.

John had this to say: “Playing with Cruachan has been a great… and amazing experience. I have met some great people along the way and toured countries I never thought I would see. I am sad to leave but feel I have reached a point where I want to spend as much time as possible with my family while my children are still young. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on the way.”
